Besides serenading fans with his unique voice during his shows, veteran singer Usher has also become known for feeding his fans cherries while at it. But during his show in London, the U Got It Bad singer was unsuccessful when he offered to feed a fan one of his cherries.
But she had a genuine reason, and Usher, 46, totally understood as she may have suffered an allergic reaction if she had consumed the fruit. Over the last few years, it has become a ritual for the Yeah! singer to feed his female fans cherries during his shows, and he initially added that to his set during his 2022-23 Las Vegas residency concerts, per Billboard.
“It started with strawberries in Vegas,” he said in a February appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show. “So, you know, I just figured we try all the fruits until we figured out which one works the best. But cherries were something that I felt was fun and just kind of active. It was a bit erotic.”
Things, however, took a humorous turn at his London last week as the attendee turned down the singer’s offer to feed her the fruit – though she gave a courteous explanation. In the video, Usher is seen having a conversation with the woman before he attempts to cherry-feed her on multiple occasions.
But while at it, the woman tells him that she’s allergic to the fruit. “Oh s–t, you’re allergic to cherries, damn! Anybody got an epipen in this b–h?” he is heard saying. “We almost had an emergency in here,” he also says after apologizing to the woman and hugging her.
