Authorities in Texas said a woman strangled her 18-year-old girlfriend to death before disposing of her body close to Buffalo Bayou, Houston. According to ABC13 Houston, Tierra Horn’s body was found close to her girlfriend’s home on January 5. That was three days after she was last seen.

The suspect, identified as Shania Turner, was said to be in an on-again, off-again relationship with Horn for about a year. Authorities said Turner killed Horn after she accused the victim of giving her an STD.

Horn’s sister, Skinesha Granville, also said their relationship was “very toxic.” Granville, who previously stayed with her sister and Turner, said their fights largely stemmed from infidelity allegations.

“Shania used to cheat on my sister while she was in the house with her,” she said, adding that Turner physically assaulted her sister on multiple occasions. “(She) used to hit on her and beat her, beat her up and stuff, and I just had to break it up,” Granville recalled.

Horn’s other sister, Rokeisha Calton, said she reckons the deceased 18-year-old “didn’t know how to approach us about it, or maybe she was scared to tell us, so when we did find out, it was way after the fact.”

Calton also said she wasn’t sure the STD accusation was the real motive behind her sister’s killing. “I’m not sure that’s really the motive. I really don’t know why it happened, honestly. I have no idea,” she told ABC13 Houston.

Calton also said she always suspected Turner was likely linked to her sister’s disappearance. “I hope she don’t get to walk outside or step outside the jail any day,” Calton said.

Turner has since been charged with murder, FOX 26 Houston reported. A judge also set her bond at $100,000 and ordered her to not go near Granville and three other women if she makes bail, per ABC13 Houston.
