The remake of the popular musical, “The Color Purple” is set to have some big names in the works as the soundtrack for the movie’s remake features vocals by Megan Thee Stallion, H.E.R., Usher, and more of your favorite music stars.

Warner Bros. Pictures, WaterTower Music, and Gamma have revealed the official soundtrack for the upcoming remake of The Color Purple, which will be released in theaters on December 25.

Alicia Keys’ Lifeline, the first single off of the movie, was however released on Sunday, November 26, ahead of the movie’s Christmas Day premiere, and the release of the entire soundtrack is earmarked for December 15.

According to a press release, Keys’ song is a “heartfelt ode to the unequivocal comfort emanating from friends, family, and community that holds us up as we face life’s challenging moments.”

Larry Jackson, co-founder and CEO of Gamma, stated: “I hope everyone enjoys what I feel is the best R&B soundtrack since some of the most iconic ones of the ’90s,” he continued. “I am so incredibly proud that the filmmakers and Warner Bros. Pictures chose us to collaborate on a hugely cultural album that musically brings to life this reimagined classic.”

He also said that in black culture, purple, in all its forms, is unquestionably sacred.

Fans can anticipate “a breathtaking duet” on the soundtrack, and one between Usher and H.E.R. as well as “a special remix” by Missy Elliott, according to press materials.

Fantasia, who plays Celie in the movie, performs the song that is written and produced by The Dream.

Barrino, Henson, Danielle Brooks, H.E.R., and Bailey will all perform on-screen numbers throughout the movie, which were written by the Grammy-winning songwriters of the musical The Color Purple.

Music icons Scott Sanders and Quincy Jones, who also worked together to create the Broadway musical and helped produce the movie, executive produced the Soundtrack as well.
