Hollywood actor and former WWE wrestler Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has emerged as the highest-paid Black celebrity on Instagram, data from Hopperhq shows. The other Black celebrity featured in the top 10 highest earners on Instagram is Beyonce.

According to Hopperhq, women dominate the leaderboard, accounting for more than half of the highest earners. Also, the sports niche dominates the top 3 with Christiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi coming in 1st and 3rd on the list.

The Rock has maintained his position as the highest-paid Black Instagram star since 2019. With over 147 million followers at the time, the actor and producer charged $882,000 per post. Fast forward to 2022, The Rock has not only increased his followers but has also doubled the amount he charges per post.

The Rock now has over 315 million followers on Instagram and according to Hopperhq, he charges $1,713,000 per post, making him the highest-paid Instagram star and the sixth-highest paid celebrity on Instagram’s rich list. Beyonce, on the other hand, charges $1,393,000 per post and has over 256 million followers. She is number eight on the list.

The Rock has an estimated net worth of $800 million and his wealth has been attributed to acting and entrepreneurial ventures. In 2019, he launched his own liquor brand called Teremana Tequila. A year later, he posted record sales, despite launching in March, at the onset of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Rock told Forbes his aim is to create a premium brand that is affordable to everyone. “When we first launched our Teremana brand, many said that I was crazy to deliver such a high-quality tequila at such an affordable price, but to me, the most important ‘P word’ in my business isn’t profit—it’s people. And that’s why Teremana, will always be the tequila of the people,” he said.
