This Nigerian family boasts of 10 professors in a town with over 100 others

Prof. Munir. A. Ijaiya studied Medicine and Surgery at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He is a fellow of the West African College of Surgeons (faculty of obstetrics & gynaecology). He also holds a diploma in Reproductive Health in developing countries from the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, Liverpool and postgraduate diploma in public administration.

He was a scholar of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists at the Liverpool school of tropical medicine in 2007 and Ford Foundation at the Wits Reproductive Health & HIV institute, Witwatersrand University, South Africa in 2015.

He is a clinician, teacher and researcher and his areas of interest include sexual and reproductive health, maternal mortality, Obstetric fistula, Obstetric anal sphincter injuries, use of Partograph in labour management, postpartum haemorrhage and provision of Emergency obstetric care competency training.
