Vaida

It is said that in the 15th century Vaida, located in modern-day Guinea included well-manufactured streets and well-manicured vegetation.

Inhabitants adorned impressive clothing which they made on their own. The first Europeans to establish contact with the inhabitants were the Portuguese in the 15th century. The sailors were surprised by the level of civilization in Vaida which was well mapped out with streets lined up through the city.
