Despite his illustrious golf career, Tiger Woods never won a state golf championship in high school. However, his son, Charlie Woods, has broken this jinx.

He achieved this feat by shooting a 78-76 over two days, contributing to The Benjamin School’s victory in the FHSAA Class A boys golf state championship at Mission Inn Resort in Florida.

14-year-old Charlie was the fourth-best player on his five-man team and finished T-26 overall. The team secured the title as sophomore Jake Valentine contributed significantly, carding a crucial birdie on hole 17 and sinking the title-winning putt on the final hole, according to the Daily Mail.

During the tournament, Tiger Woods cheered for his son Charlie, who achieved something Tiger Woods hadn’t done during his time at Western High School in Anaheim, California. The California Interscholastic Federation did not organize a state championship during Tiger Woods’ high school years.

But during his high school years, he secured victories in the CIF’s SoCal Regional in 1991 and held the title of Southern Section medalist in 1991, 1993, and 1994. In 1991, he became the youngest golfer at that time to win the US Junior Amateur.
