Poem: Tongue of Man

by Adesewa Oyinkansola, 1:01pm December 17, 2015,
Central african republic

Central african republic

The tongue of a man
Small in size but
Lanky in action
Terrorising and placing you
In a doom
Without pity of self destruction

Oh cruel tongue of a man
Slaying deep into my tender flesh
By the sting it possesses
With a fashionable root

The tongue of a man
Full of lies and deceit
Betrayal us the origin
Where it carved from
Says A meant B does C
What he meant not from his heart

The tongue of a man is heinous
To the bones and marrows
Hazardous to the heart
Your pace is limited in this space
You won’t find the rhythm it possesses

Your tongue brings sorrow and anguish
With its slanderous taaaaaaaatraaaaaaaatraaaaaaaaaa
He dips his soiled hand into the heart of meekness
Man when will your blue stop being black????
