Yola Semedo Moutofa Coimbra
She is said to be the most awarded Angolan artist ever. At the Angola Music Awards 2015, she bagged four awards: “Best Album of the Year”, “Best Female Artist”, “Best Semba” and “Best Kizomba”. The singer presents music in various styles: Kizomba, Semba and Zouk, with her most famous album being released in 2010 titled Minha Alma.
Born in 1978, Yola was awarded the UNESCO “Golden Voice of Africa” prize in 1995 organized in Bulgaria and appeared as a representative of Angola at the festival. She has also been the ambassador of the Chevron for the fight against malaria and HIV in Angola.
