Paulo Flores
The author and composer, regarded as one of the original architects of Angola’s popular kizomba dance music, became a hit as a teenager in the 80s, releasing records like Kapuete Kamundanda (1988), Sassasa (1990) and Thunda Mu N’jilla (1992).
In 2007, he was appointed a UN Goodwill Ambassador for Angola, performed at WOMEX 2014, made his U.S. debut in 2015 and has been one of the celebrity judges on the Angolan version of the hit television show The Voice. Having performed with music giants in Afro-Luso music, such as Tito Paris, Lura, and Sara Tavares, Flores focuses on love and life to politics and history in his music.
