Car Wash

Released in September 1976, it was produced by Norman Whitfield and is the soundtrack to the 1976 hit comedy Car Wash that featured Richard Pryor and George Carlin. The soundtrack was also the debut album by the R&B band, Rose Royce. With hit tracks like “I Wanna Get Next to You,” and “I’m Going Down,” the soundtrack won a Grammy Award for Album of Best Original Score Written for a Motion Picture or a Television Special. The title track reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100 and R&B charts and was certified platinum.
