Cuba
In Cuba, the number of people living with HIV as of 2016 is 25,000. The country had one of the lowest HIV related deaths at less than 200 people but saw an increase in HIV cases at 3300 from the less than 1000 cases in 2005.
Cuba had come to the spotlight in 2015 for being the first country to eliminate mother to child transmission. It is also one of the countries to have comprehensive laws to protect people living with HIV from stigma and discrimination.
