Bromfield, who wore a shimmering silver gown, quickly accepted the proposal once the question was popped from the American sprinter, showing off a stunning engagement ring as Lyles knelt before her.
The Olympic champion captioned the post with a heartfelt message: “To My Future Wife, I Will Love You Forever.”
The couple, who began dating in the summer of 2022, have taken a significant step in their relationship.
According to an ESPN report, Lyles shared a beautiful moment he recalled from the 2024 Paris Games after winning the men’s 100m final, as he brought Bromfield’s spikes back to her hotel room at 2 a.m. after she had left them at the Olympic Village.
“So here I am at 2 a.m., waddling with a spike bag, my bag, and some toiletries, and I’m like, ‘Huh. Here I am, Olympics champion, 100 meters, waddling to my girlfriend’s room with all this stuff,'” Lyles said, laughing. “I’m a good boyfriend.”
Bromfield competed in the women’s 400m, the 4x400m relay, and the mixed 4x400m relay in Paris for Jamaica but did not medal in her individual events.
However, she secured a bronze medal as part of Jamaica’s 4x100m relay team at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
The couple has faced challenges, including recent cyberbullying directed at Bromfield after Lyles revealed that she sometimes shares insights into Jamaican track and field training.
Lyles also defended Bromfield amid social media criticism from her national folk after her individual performances at the 2024 Olympics.
However, despite these hurdles, their relationship has only grown stronger, and this engagement is a true testament to their resilience and love.
The video has also garnered lots of congratulatory messages from athletes around the world as the couple prepares for their upcoming marriage.
Lyles and Bromfield now look poised to share both the world’s biggest stage and their future together, and they have surely left a mark on track and field.
