Texas congresswoman Jasmine Crockett has hit back at President Donald Trump after he tagged her as a “low IQ” person during remarks in the Oval Office.
Speaking on MSNBC a few days ago, Crockett blasted both Trump and his administration for indicting former FBI Director James Comey earlier in the day, while also floating threats against Democratic donor George Soros and other party figures.
“I want the American people to know that when you stand up to a bully, you win. Do not back down. Do not bend. You allow them to go and wage their threats,” Crockett said in response to Trump’s attacks on Democrats.

She warned that Trump’s approach endangered American democracy. “If everybody starts to bend, for sure, what is left of our democracy will be gone. And unfortunately, that is exactly what he wants. And even more sadly is that many of his followers agree with this,” she added.
Crockett also directed criticism at Attorney General Pam Bondi, saying she was “appalled” by the Justice Department’s handling of the case. “Now, you have people that literally either they just don’t know the law or they just don’t care,” she said.
Bondi has faced backlash in recent months for controversial remarks about Jeffrey Epstein’s files, her claim that hate speech could be prosecuted, and for pursuing the indictment of Comey while insisting the department would “follow the facts in this case.”
Her comments drew fire from Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.), who told MSNBC’s The Briefing, “You do not indict them and say, well, now, we got to go look for some facts.” He added, “Her statement shows this thing is a complete political hatchet job, and I think it’s going to blow up in the Trump administration’s face, because having practiced law in the Eastern District of Virginia for 17 years, I don’t see any of the judges in this district dignifying this political persecution in any way.”

Crockett argued that Comey’s case should be easy to win. “Here’s the deal, if he [Trump] decides that he wants to continue down this path, I think that they’re going to continue to lose,” she said.
“And I don’t see the former FBI director saying that he is going to just go ahead and say, enter into a plea deal, or he’s just going to take this lying down. I think that this is someone who absolutely will fight this to the end.”
She concluded by questioning the administration’s ability to prosecute the case effectively. “I think they’re going to have a harder time trying to figure out who’s going to actually prosecute the case than he will have trying to find somebody to defend the case.”
