Why losing African-American candidates will not go down without a fight

Florida Democratic gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum gestures as he debates Republican Ron DeSantis…ABC News

Andrew Gillum

Gillum was running for Governor of Florida and initially conceded defeat on November 6.  Being that Florida is a red state and Gillum’s opponent Republican Ron DeSantis was endorsed by Trump it was a close call from the beginning.

Nevertheless, Gillum persevered and campaigned until he could no more.

In a turn of events, Florida is now heading towards a run-off election. Currently, Gillum has secured 4,022,843 votes or 49.1% while DeSantis has 4,066,033 votes or 49.7%, as reported by The Associated Press. Votes are still being counted.

There have been many victories during this year’s midterm elections. The above proves that there is also triumph is standing for what is right and demanding fairness.
