It is uncommon to see two authors with a 90-year age difference come together. This is the story of six-year-old Autumn Osakue and 96-year-old Gerry Morgan from Tennessee.

In their book, “90 Years Between Them | The Imparting of a Legacy,” the two authors examine some of life’s most important issues from two quite different angles.

The book that Morgan and Osakue wrote combines thoughts on living a good life with a childlike curiosity.

Morgan told 10 News, “We had some great times in radio.” She filled the pages with recollections about her upbringing in rural Tennessee. “I had a horse that I rode; I had a good life; it was great.”

Drawing on beloved children’s books and even the Bible, Osakue posed profound questions in book, showcasing young wonder and ancient wisdom.

Osakue’s favorite section of the book, however, is a poem written by Morgan.

Morgan has over 60 years of experience as a poet. She eventually became a published poet at the age of 96 thanks to this work.

Aside from poetry, she had lots of life advice—especially when Osakue had a difficult question of her own. Morgan advised Osakue to always remember her identity when Osakue inquired about whether she had ever been teased by others.

Morgan replied, “Remember who you are. You’re the child of the King. And if they say anything bad to you, just reach up and straighten your crown. So that’s what we do, don’t we? We don’t let that bother us anymore.”
