According to Men’s Health Magazine, researchers at Virginia Tech University found that people who abstained from alcohol were 19 percent more likely to die than those who had one or two drinks three days or more per week.
Other studies have shown that people who abstain from alcohol are also more likely to suffer from coronary artery disease. Alcohol can help decrease your risk for heart disease by lowering bad cholesterol (LDL) and raising your good cholesterol (HDL).
Before you go overboard Men’s Health points out that too much alcohol, defined as three drinks three or more days a week, could be worse for you than abstaining.
What is the takeaway from all this research? Find a happy medium. Do not over do it. Try healthier alcohol choices like Budweiser Select 55, Beck’s Light, and others. Men’s Health also suggests avoiding wine bottles with red or yellow labels. As always, F2FA reminds you to drink responsibly. Cheers!
