The pan-African magazine, New African, has released its 100 Most influential Africans of 2014, an annual list compiled by the magazine to spotlight the most influential Africans around the world.
It is indeed, a great time to be African. Most fields and industries are thriving. Journalists courageously air truths to unveil those in power, challenging every individual citizen of the continent to speak up and speak out. Artists illustrate the beauty they experience in their home, whether through songs, writings or poems, and even African athletes sit on the world stage, shattering records.
Transformation is omnipresent, morphing each country so much so that attempting to narrow the list of the most influential Africans to 100 is nothing short of an impossible task. But the revolution sweeping through Africa brings to mind a few individuals that lead the charge of change. These heroes, game-changers, trendsetters and visionaries, live on the ledge of transformation, ushering Africa to the forefront of progressive movement.
We at Face2face Africa are very proud that we’ve honored quite a few of the people on the list, including Dr. Mo Ibrahim, Bethlehem Tilahun Alemu, Dr. Carlos Lopes, and more at our annual pan-African achievement Awards, The FACE List.
As Africa continues to grow and develop , let us salute the icons who are at the forefront of this exciting transformation.
