Ifeanyi Adeleke, the 3-year-old son of Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Davido, died after drowning in a swimming pool, BBC reported. The news of the minor’s death was confirmed by authorities in the West African nation.
The fatal incident is said to have occurred at the award-winning singer’s Banana Island residence in Lagos. Benjamin Hundeyin, who is the spokesperson for the Lagos state police command, told BBC Pidgin that they have since taken in eight domestic workers for questioning over the fatal incident.
“Eight people were brought in for questioning and after a thorough investigation, anyone found culpable of the child’s death would be arrested,” Hundeyin said.
The singer and his partner, Chioma, haven’t yet publicly addressed their son’s alleged drowning. Meanwhile, several celebrities and notable figures have taken to social media to offer condolences to Davido and his family. Take a look at them below:
