Celebrity hairdresser Kim Kimble is taking a road tour across eight cities to give truck drivers free makeovers. She is doing this with the economy hotel brand Super 8 after the hotel underwent a $100 million renovation in preparation for its 50th anniversary.

The truckers, who spend 300 days a year on the road on average, have long trusted Super 8 as their home. Kimble is giving them a new cut and style, which they are calling “Trucking Gorgeous,” at various Super 8 hotels until August 15.

Apart from having a brother who is also a truck driver, Kimble shared her excitement and motivation for joining the trip. “I decided to join because, first of all, I have a love for truck stops. I’ve worked with celebrities, been on the road with them on tour; I have stopped at truck stops. I have a love for that lifestyle because it’s a little different,” she told Glam.

“We’re on the road, and we’re traveling in tour buses and things like that, and there’s trucks that are also on the road with us. It made sense because I live on the road as a celebrity hairstylist. I travel from place to place, so being able to have a nice place to stay that’s affordable but gives you that [comfort] … It was a good collaboration when I got the message that they wanted to collaborate to do this.”

Kimble also shared with 21Ninety that she really wants to make sure she provides the truck drivers with great, easy-to-maintain basic haircuts and hairstyles since they need to concentrate on the road. She also added that she wants to provide them with items that will enhance their appearance, confidence, and beauty while they are working on the road.

Kimble said she began her career as a “shampooist” at the Los Angeles salon run by her family. She has been a top hairstylist in the beauty world ever since her debut work in the 1997 movie B.A.P.S. She also transformed Halle Berry and Natalie Deselle and worked on HBO’s hit series, “Euphoria.

Sanaa Lathan, Kerry Washington, Vanessa Williams, the Williams sisters, Garcelle Beauvais, Taraji P. Henson, and Zendaya are just a few of the famous people she has styled.
