Poem: Soul Sister III

Soul Sister

Soul Sister

Do you ever get sad?

Does your heart ever bleed?

Do you ever feel the weight crushing you in?

Do you ever cry, wondering if it is always going to be this way?

Sometimes I wonder if you do.

I see you post cute pictures on instagram,

Showing off smiling faces and perfect bodies,

I see the number of likes on your Facebook posts and the retweets for your tweets

And I wonder If you ever feel like I do.

It is amazing to know

That our souls are made

From the same material;

To see, and be seen.

To love and be loved,

I want to know who you are

Even if you are falling apart.

It is not enough to say

That you are okay.

I need your hurt

I need your pain

It’s not Love any other way.

So, when the laughter and the dreams

And the memories in-between

Are washed away in a steady stream.

When you are on your hands and knees,

Trying to gather all your broken dreams.

I am with you

‘Till your heart finds a home

I won’t let you feel alone
