Lawyers representing Jay-Z and Beyoncé compelled Piers Morgan to apologize following his interview with Jaguar Wright.
During her appearance on “Piers Morgan Uncensored,” Wright made demeaning remarks about the couple, alleging that they were involved in criminal activities similar to the sex trafficking accusations against Sean “Diddy” Combs and others in the music industry. Wright’s unsubstantiated claims were quickly refuted by Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s legal team.
On Tuesday, Morgan revealed on his show that after being contacted by the couple’s lawyers, part of the interview had been edited. The lawyers informed him that Wright’s claims were “totally false and have no basis in fact.” In response, Morgan complied with the legal request to remove portions of the interview.
“Jaguar Wright unexpectedly made several serious allegations about Jay-Z and Beyoncé during that interview,” Morgan explained. “As I said at the time, they were not present to respond or defend themselves. But now they have.”

He continued: “Editing interviews is not something we do lightly on a show called ‘Uncensored,’ but like the proverbial cry of fire in a crowded theater, there are legal limits on us as well. We apologize to Jay-Z and Beyoncé.”
Morgan also noted, “That’s the thing about platforms: in today’s world, almost everyone has a platform if they have something people want to hear. That’s why we invited her for the interview.”
As of now, Wright has not made any public comments regarding the situation.
