Lil Nas X, the singer and writer who shot into superstardom with his 2018 hit single Old Town Road, was arrested and charged after he was hospitalized for a possible overdose.
The Grammy-winning artist, born Montero Lamar Hill, was reportedly seen roaming the streets of Los Angeles early Thursday morning, wearing only white underwear and boots, TMZ reported.

In a 2020 interview with Variety, Lil Nas X opened up about the difficulties he experienced after he shot into superstardom. He also mentioned that his rise came during a period shadowed by the deaths of Nipsey Hussle, XXXTentacion and Juice Wrld.
“So much happened during my rise,” Lil Nas X said at the time. “You know, drugs and murders. And my grandmother passing [in 2018]— she was the first person close to me who died. It was devastating. And it made me a hypochondriac: I’d wake up, heart racing. It was scary.”
He also admitted to self-medicating at the time as he began “smoking [weed] heavily.” “But then I started feeling more connected with the universe, and taking everything as a sign,” he added.
In 2021, Lil Nas X further shared that he took psychedelic mushrooms while putting together his album Montero.
