Grammy-winning singer Beyoncé recently hit billionaire status, making her the fifth musician to make the list.

But in a recent interview with Page Six, her father Mathew Knowles emphasized that despite the huge wealth that his daughter has amassed from her very successful career and businesses, she’s actually “not motivated by money.”

“I’ve never heard Beyoncé ever talk about money… It’s always been, ‘How can I make my fans happy? How can I be the best at what I’m doing?’” said Knowles. “Her money came with the success, but that has never been a goal of hers. And I love that about her.”

Beyoncé made Forbes’ billionaire list in 2025 after the success of her “The Renaissance World Tour” and “Cowboy Carter” concerts. She has additionally raked up cash from her businesses. Besides Beyoncé, the other four billionaire musicians include her husband Jay-Z, Bruce Springsteen,Taylor Swift and Rihanna.

Knowles said that he congratulated his daughter after she became a billionaire, but he added, “That’s just not Beyoncé . That’s not who she is.”

“She’s motivated by being the very best. She’s motivated by making her fans happy and…. giving back to the community as well,” he continued.

Last week, Knowles launched “Destiny’s Child: Iconic Reimagined Tribute” to pay homage to the hugely successful female band that his daughter was part of, Page Six reported. Quintet musicians and violinists take the stage during the hour-long show and perform a number of the band’s hit songs. Knowles also speaks during the show.

“We’re planning on taking it global. And and we’re also looking at other A-list urban artists to be next… This is a partnership that I built with [live event company] Fever that’s not just based on Destiny’s Child,” he said.
