Nigerian Afro hip-hop superstars Wizkid and Davido are nominees for the 2017 BET Awards.

The 2017 list of nominees for the category of “Best International Act Africa” includes the Nigerian trio of Wizkid, Davido, Tekno (Nigeria); the South African trio of AKA, Nasty C, and Babes Wodumo; and the Ghanaian artists Stonebwoy and Mr. Eazi.

Wizkid, whose new single “Come Closer,” featuring Drake, is currently dominating the charts, is making the list of nominees in the category for the second time in a row, while Ghanaian dancehall ace Stonebwoy is on the list of nominees for a second time after he was nominated and won the award in 2015.

In 2016, South African DJ Black Coffee won the category ahead of other nominees, such as Nigerian songbird Yemi Alade and MzVee from Ghana.

The awards ceremony, which will be televised live, is scheduled to take place on June 25th at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles, California, and will feature live performances from top-rated music artists.

American pop diva Beyoncé Knowles tops this year’s list of nominees, with seven nominations, including a nomination for the “Best Female R&B/Pop Artist” category, where she is up against other icons like Mary J. Blige and Rihanna.

The BET Awards, which was established in 2001 by the Black Entertainment Television Network, celebrates the achievements of Black Americans and people of African descent in entertainment. It also honors deserving personalities in music, sports, and television.

This year’s award will recognize musical offerings released between April 1, 2016, and March 31, 2017.
