Actor Michael B Jordan and film director Ryan Coogler have teamed up on a film, titled “Wrong Answer”. Given the critical and mass success of their previous works together – Fruitvale Station, Creed, and Black Panther – in just the last five years, these two are on a winning streak, and it appears that “Wrong Answer” is poised to experience a similar fate.

Black Panther, the last project these two embarked on, has the fifth biggest North American debut of all time and over $400 million sales worldwide.

The movie, Wrong Answer, is about the standardized test cheating scandal at Atlanta public schools in 2009 that Rachel Aviv’s wrote about in the New Yorker. Eleven teachers were indicted for racketeering test results, and those who confessed blamed pressures to meet targets set by the district, thrusting the whole nation into a “No Child Left Behind” debate.

Jordan will play math teacher Damany Lewis who joined the effort in order to prevent his school from shutting down. Coogler is directing the film which is fully financed by New Regency Productions.

The film will be produced by Coogler, and Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner, and Jeremy Kleiner of Plan B, and New Regency’s Arnon Milchan. New York Times best-selling author Ta-Nehisi Coates will write the script.

Coates’ second book, “Between the World and Me,” won the 2015 National Book Award for Nonfiction and was a finalist for the 2016 Pulitzer Prize. Coates was also a 2015 MacArthur Foundation “genius” fellow.

Both 31, Jordan and Coogler are extremely fond of each other, with Jordan recently sharing that Coogler is his bestfriend. We cannot wait to see these two in action again.
