Zimbabwe’s President Emerson Mnangagwa was evacuated from the stage minutes after an explosion at a rally in White City Stadium.
Mnangagwa was addressing supporters ahead of the July elections, the first after the deposition of Robert Mugabe.
According to the state media, the president was unhurt and had been successfully evacuated in the process.

Presidential spokesman Mr George Charamba said:
President Mnangagwa has not been injured and is at Bulawayo State House. Investigations are underway and more details will be given to the public. There have been multiple attempts on the President’s life over the past five years.
The vice president was unfortunately injured and is receiving treatment together with other government officials.
Investigations are underway.
This comes hours after a similar explosion rocked Addis Ababa as Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed was addressing supporters.
