Office: Governor of Georgia
Besides being a politician, Abrams is a lawyer and novelist.
In 2016, Abrams was elected to the Georgia state House of Representatives, making her the first African American to lead the state’s House of Representatives.
If Abrams is able to secure most of the votes on November 6 against her Republican contender, she will be Georgia’s first female Governor and the U.S.’s first African American Governor.
