5 African musicians who are keeping Fela Kuti's Afrobeat music very much alive

Femi Kuti- Nigeria

It comes as no surprise that the son of the father of Afro beats continues in his father’s footsteps and keeps Afrobeat alive. Femi’s music career started when he started playing the guitar and saxophone in his father’s band. Later, in the 1980s, he started Positive Force and has since gone on to create his own name in the music industry despite his father’s huge name.

Femi Kuti inspires many young African artists such as Lagbaja, Wizkid and has collaborated with international artists such as Common, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Dej Jam. Femi Kuti has won several awards and the hearts of many on world stages.
