Kruger National Park, South Africa
Considered to be among the best maintained parks in Africa, Kruger National Park offers some of Africa’s widest variety of wildlife. The park is located in Limpopo and Mpumalanga provinces in northeastern South Africa and is estimated to extend 260 kilometers north to south and 65 kilometers east to west.
The Park is home to the Big Five, including lions, elephants, cheetahs, leopards, and buffaloes. Deadly snakes such as the black mamba and pythons are found in this park. Camping in Kruger Park has become very popular among tourists and backpackers. There are numerous camping sites within the park, including the Bateleur Bushveld Camp, Punda Maria Camp, Crocodile Bridge Camp, and many others. The best period to visit the Park is between September and October during the dry winter season.
