On this day in 1930, talented musician, singer and composer, Ray Charles Robinson was born.
Born in Albany, Georgia, Robinson was one of the first African American artists to merge the blues with gospel to pave the way for rhythm and blues (R&B)music.
He died on June 10, 2013, but his musical legacy still lives on.
