The origins of elephants
The Kamba people, who are from Kenya think that elephants are derivatives of humans because of their intellectual ability and another interesting reason.
Supposedly a destitute man was given balm to grow the incisors of his wife. He was to then remove her canine teeth and sell it.
He sold the teeth for a flock of goats.
After a few weeks, her teeth had grown again and so had her body; her skin was thick and grey like that of an elephant.
This time she didn’t permit her husband to touch her teeth.
She burst out the door and went to the forest, living there permanently.
She had a son who was an elephant. Afterwards, she also had more “children.”
Her husband visited her from time to time but he didn’t ask her to come back home.
