The first man to roam the earth
The members of the Akan tribe, who dispersed throughout Ghana and the Ivory Coast believe the first man to roam the earth was named Adu Ogyinae.
According to Akan legend, humans lived beneath the surface of the earth. One day, seven men, five women, a dog and a leopard crawled out of a hole dug out by a large worm.
The group of men and women were afraid but Adu was not. He attempted to build a dwelling place for them but in the process, he was killed by a tree he was trying to cut down.
