Abbott Elementary star Quinta Brunson could soon be legally single, as she recently said that she has reached a divorce settlement with her estranged husband, Kevin Anik.
Per TMZ, Brunson, in documents filed with the court, notified the judge that she had reached a written agreement with Anik regarding the division of their property and divorce finalization.
The 35-year-old Emmy award-winner and Anik’s divorce will be finalized once a judge signs the settlement. Those details could, however, not be established at the time of this report. Brunson and Anik also did not welcome any children, so there were qualms about custody.
In March, Face2Face Africa reported that Brunson had filed for divorce from her husband after three and a half years of marriage. Brunson, per TMZ, filed the legal documents to end her marriage to Anik in the Los Angeles County Superior Court. She stated that it was because of irreconcilable differences.
In a previous interview with Bustle, Brunson stated that she wasn’t ready to announce their separation at the time it was made public.
“Even if you don’t give a lot, people want whatever they can get, and will take whatever they can get,” she said. “I remember seeing people be like, ‘She announced her divorce.’ I didn’t announce anything. I think people have this idea that people in the public eye want the public to know their every move. None of us do. I promise you.”
“No one wants [everyone] to know when you buy a house, when you move, when a major change happens in your personal life — it’s just that that’s public record information,” she added. “I hate all of it.”
Brunson, in her interview, stated that despite the online talk about her personal life, she had gotten to a point where she had shut her ears to that.
“Those are invisible voices that aren’t in your home with you, that aren’t in your personal life, that aren’t your friends,” she said. “I love my fans, I love the people who watch Abbott. So you want to hear them, and you want to listen to them, but when it comes to matters of your personal life and decisions you make, you do have to tune it out.”
