Adrenaline-filled activities you can do in Africa if you want to get out of your comfort zone

Are you an adrenaline junkie and in search of places on the continent where you can indulge yourself in such daring, blood-pumping and nail-biting activities?

If the answer is yes, then we got you covered!

Besides the usual activities that complement vacationing in Africa, it is worthy to mention that there are some tourist spots scattered across the continent that offer unconventional ways of making the most out of “letting your hair down.”

Be it kayaking, paragliding or bungee jumping, just to mention a few, these popular spots in these countries are a must-visit if you want to satisfy your adrenaline cravings on your next vacation.

Kayaking and Canoeing

Africa has several rivers, lakes and streams that are perfect for kayaking and canoeing. The Zambezi River, which is the fourth-longest river in Africa, offers a great kayaking experience. This is complemented with exploring the natural scenery and wonders of its surroundings, including the beautiful Victoria Falls.

The White Nile in Namibia, Ahansal River in Morocco, Blyde River in South Africa, as well as, the Athi River in Kenya are also great spots for the aforementioned activities.

 

Paragliding

The Ghana Paragliding Festival is held annually during Easter on the Kwahu mountains, one of the highest points in the country. Paragliding is one of the highlights of the event-filled celebrations. If you happen to find yourself in Ghana during Easter, you should experience it.

Mauritius, South Africa and Morocco also have amazing paragliding spots which will make you fall in love with their landscape.

 

Bungee Jumping

For the extreme adrenaline junkies and seekers who are into bungee jumping or want to try it, the Bloukrans Bridge in South Africa should be on your bucket list. At 216 metres high, the Bloukrans Bridge Bungy is the world’s highest commercial bridge bungee jump.

Usually voted as one of the top five adrenalin experiences on the planet, the Victoria Falls bungee jump in Zimbabwe will also offer you a thrilling experience. Other bungee jump locations include the Nile High Bungee in Jinja, Uganda and the Rapids Camp Sagana in Kenya.

 

Skydiving

South Africa has some of the best skydiving spots on the continent. If you find yourself in Pretoria, Cape Town or Johannesburg, be sure to experience it.
