It is not strange to see some of the 469 Nigerian legislators dosing off during sessions. They have been accused of putting their needs first instead of focusing on the needs of the people they represent.
Some have also been accused of profiteering from the parliamentary committees, with the Senate presidents and speakers using the system to pay legislators for their loyalty.
They have also been involved in fights and brawls, with the most recent being over the suspension of some members who had accused the speaker of corruption.
