In Hausa, Kanuri, and English, the photo list encourages the public to alert authorities if they see any of the 100 most-wanted militants and uses images from the militant’s propaganda material to identify them.
Cited twice on the list is Boko Haram leader Abubaker Shekau who is reportedly 97th and 100th on the list, even though the Nigerian military — including Chadian President Idriss Deby — declared him dead months ago.
While the militants have reportedly lost all of their Islamic caliphate (seized lands) to the Multinational Joint Taskforce this year, they have proven ruthless with their focus on young children and women as suicide bombers.
Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari has given the military until mid-November to dismantle the terrorist organization.
