Authorities in Miami have arrested boxer Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis two weeks after a warrant was issued for his arrest over an alleged domestic violence incident that occurred in October 2025.

Per ESPN, Miami Gardens police stated that Davis, 31, faces charges including battery, false imprisonment, and attempted kidnapping

Police said that a three-county surveillance operation was executed by the department and the United States Marshals fugitive task force to locate Davis. The embattled boxer was ultimately arrested in the Miami Design District without incident on Wednesday.

Davis was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, with TMZ reporting that his bond was set at $16,000.

During a January 14 press conference, the Miami Gardens Police said that the October 27 incident occurred at a Miami Gardens gentlemen’s club, adding that the female victim was an employee of the establishment, NBC 6 South Florida reported.

At the time, authorities said they were not going to disclose the identity of the woman or the name of the club in an effort to keep her out of danger.

Police said that the woman and Davis previously had an intimate relationship, and she had known the boxer since 2022. But they were no longer in a relationship a month before the alleged assault.

Police made a series of allegations against Davis saying that he grabbed the back of the female victim’s head, used his one hand to pull her, while he got hold of her throat with the other, as he took her to a parking garage by force.

Police said that the woman later rushed back to her coworkers after Davis ultimately released her. The woman sustained bruises on her left arm, per NBC 6 South Florida

Besides reporting him to the Miami Gardens police, Davis’ victim, identified as Courtney Rossel, also filed a civil lawsuit against him.

“What the police said is exactly in line with our lawsuit. So whatever investigation they did, they determined it was enough to get a judge to sign off on an arrest warrant,” Rossel’s attorney, Jeff Chukwuma, told ESPN on January 14. “The state attorney had to make the determination before, which coincides exactly with our civil complaint.”

As previously reported by Face2Face Africa, Davis was billed to fight Jake Paul in November 2025. But their boxing match was canceled after he was accused of domestic violence in a civil lawsuit.

Davis’ stellar boxing career has been marred by his run-ins with the law. This is also not the first time he has been accused of domestic violence. In June 2025, Davis was accused of assaulting his ex-girlfriend. And though Miami-Dade authorities arrested and charged him with misdemeanor battery in connection with the incident, the case was later dismissed because the victim opted not to prosecute.

Besides the domestic violence allegations, Davis has also faced other legal woes. In June 2023, he was placed under house arrest after he pleaded guilty to a November 2020 hit-and-run incident that resulted in four people sustaining injuries, Fox News reported. He was later jailed after he failed to comply with the terms of his sentence.
