Bronny James has opened up on how he deals with the noise surrounding his young career, insisting that critics only fuel him to want to be better at his job.
Bronny, 20, is the son of the legendary LeBron James and is now one of the most talked about young professional basketball players facing criticism over the last few months.
The Los Angeles Lakers rookie might be the most famous two-way player in NBA history, but he’s now hit back at the noise from the media surrounding his career.

Last summer, Bronny James was drafted by the Lakers and fulfilled the dream of playing with his dad, LeBron James, as they made history and became the first father-son duo to ever play together in the NBA.
It was always a tough road for Bronny, given his USC setback and second-round draft status. Although his G-League numbers are improving, controversy reignited after LeBron confronted Stephen A. Smith for speaking out about his son.
Bronny James says he sees and hears all the talk from critics yet people need to understand he’s a young athlete and ‘not a robot.’
“My first thought about everything is I always try to just let it go through one ear and out the other, put my head down and come to work and be positive every day,” Bronny told The Athletic. “But sometimes it just fuels me a little bit. I see everything that people are saying, and people think, like, I’m a f—— robot, like I don’t have any feelings or emotions.”

“But I just take that and use it as fuel for me to go out, wake up every day and get to the gym early, get my extra work in, watch my extra film every day, get better every day,” Bronny continued. “That’s what Rob wants me to do as a young guy, coming in, playing in the G League and learning from far on the bench watching the Lakers play.”
This year, Bronny has earned key NBA minutes while leading in the G-League as the Lakers continue to exceed expectations under first-year coach JJ Redick.
