“Wicked” star Cynthia Erivo, famous for her signature long talon nails, was treated to an unexpected question from Dax Shepard and it centered on how she manages everyday tasks, like wiping, with such extravagant claws.

On Monday’s episode of his Armchair Expert podcast, Shepard asked Erivo how she manages to clean herself with her long nails.

Although annoyed, she explained she uses the pads of her fingers, not the nail tips, to fold tissue and wipe.

Shepard pressed further, jokingly asking if her nails ever “tickle” her, but Erivo dismissed the idea, as reported by TMZ.

Erivo told Shepard she anticipated his question about her nails and found it annoying, but, explained that she’s a functioning adult who takes hygiene seriously.

She added that many people likely don’t clean themselves as thoroughly as she does, even with her signature long nails.

British-Nigerian actress Erivo recently touched on being a prominent Black queer figure in Hollywood and how her evolution over the last couple of years has felt like.

“I feel really grateful for getting to see the full picture of who I am and who I want to be,” she said to Vanity Fair. “I feel comfortable in myself. There’s an ease that I’ve experienced these last couple of years where I just feel very, very much like me.”

“I know that there are young people who are seeking out women in entertainment who are proudly queer and just thriving and living and enjoying their lives,” the Harriet star added.
