It appears Damian Lillard’s ex-wife Kay’La caught wind of GloRilla shooting her shot at the Milwaukee Bucks star after she seemingly poked fun of the rapper following her DUI arrest on Tuesday.
As previously reported by Face2Face Africa, the Grammy-nominated rapper, whose real name is Gloria Hallelujah Woods, took to social media to shoot her shot at the NBA superstar after they met during the All-Star Weekend.
But Kay’La seemingly responded to the F.N.F. (Let’s Go) rapper after Georgia authorities arrested and charged her with driving under the influence, possessing an open container in a motor vehicle and failure to obey a traffic control device.
Kay’La in an Instagram post shared a photo of GloRilla’s mugshot with the caption, “Free GloLillard,” and hashtag, “#sisterwife??♀️”, TMZ reported. Lillard and the Memphis rapper have, however, not responded to the post.
Lilliard in 2023 made a major change in his life after he filed for divorce from Kay’La. Per Willamette Week, the Milwaukee Bucks star filed the divorce in Clackamas County Circuit Court in Oregon. The 33-year-old, who shares three children with Kay’La, cited irreconcilable differences “that caused the irremediable breakdown of their marriage.”
Responding to the divorce filing in a statement, Lillard’s attorney told the news outlet that the basketball star and his family “ask that their privacy be respected during this sensitive time and presently have no further comment.”
Lillard and Kay’La started dating during their college years at Utah’s Weber State University. The pair tied the knot in September 2021. In a 2021 interview with Ebony, the 8x NBA All-Star opened up about how Kay’La “took care of” him when he was in college.
“She had the car, an apartment and bent over backwards for me. Kay’La accepted me with all my flaws as a young man,” Lillard said.
Lillard’s divorce filing also came after the Portland Trail Blazers traded him to the Milwaukee Bucks in a blockbuster 3-team swap. The 33-year-old spent 11 years with the Trail Blazers and was their star player. He is also the franchise’s all-time leading scorer.
