Located in Boulevard Bounhour, Djibouti City, the People’s Palace is one of the most popular historical shrines in Djibouti and is viewed as a symbol of the struggle for freedom. Outside the palace is a monument of martyrs who died for the freedom of Djibouti. This palace was constructed by the People’s Republic of China in 1984 as a gift to the people of Djibouti.
