Retired NFL star Richard Sherman has revealed that his Washington home was ransacked by armed robbers while his family was inside.
Surveillance footage shared by the former Seattle Seahawks player, 37, on March 31 showed at least three armed men entering and leaving the property with bags. Sherman’s wife, Ashley Moss, assured that she and their children were “physically OK”, as reported by PEOPLE.
“House being robbed at gun point with my family in it isn’t what anyone wants for a birthday gift,” Sherman wrote in a post on X.com. “Scary situation that my Wife handled masterfully and kept my kids safe. If anyone has any info that can help find these people please reach out.”
Sherman replied to his own post with a video of the three apparent robbers jumping out of a broken window at his house, writing: “Another Video if anyone recognizes them or has any info please reach out.”
Sherman, now a television analyst, responded to social media users offering information about the break-in, revealing that the intruders accessed his home by cutting through his backyard and a neighbor’s fence.
Sherman, a former Super Bowl champion and five-time Pro Bowler, revealed that police informed him the suspects targeted five homes in the area.
The alleged robbery occurred just a day before Sherman’s 37th birthday.

“Very shaken up and hope to find these people soon,” Moss, Sherman’s wife, wrote in a post on her Instagram Stories on Monday, adding, “the kids and I are physically OK.”
“Waking up to [intruders] outside your bedroom with a gun is something no one should have to experience,” Moss added. “Like I said they tried the wrong people! We WILL find you!”
Moss shared the surveillance footage of three suspects fleeing their home with bags in hand, calling them “cowards” and urging anyone who knows them to come forward.
The extent of the theft remains unclear, while the investigation by the King County Sheriff’s Office is ongoing.
Sherman’s home burglary is the latest in a string of break-ins targeting professional athletes. NFL stars Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Joe Burrow have also been recent victims.
Last month, federal authorities charged seven Chilean nationals linked to a “South American Theft Group” accused of multi-million dollar heists at athletes’ homes.
