Shooting Stars – 1950

Founded in 1950, Shooting Stars Sports Club, otherwise known as 3SC or Oluyole Warriors, is a Nigerian football club based in Ibadan. Initially called WNDC Ibadan (Western Nigeria Development Company), and later IICC (Industrial Investment and Credit Corporation), the nickname “Shooting Stars” was added after founding members of the team described the players as “stars” in their own right. Shooting Stars have played and won many matches against top club sides in Africa. They won the African Cup Winners’ Cup in 1976, becoming the first Nigerian club side to win an international trophy.
