Ron George, a former NFL linebacker for the Kansas City Chiefs, Atlanta Falcons, and Minnesota Vikings, is leaving a lasting impression off the field because there are many different ways to leave a legacy.
Ron is using the same leadership, tenacity, and motivation that characterized his football career in his role as executive vice president of development and chief administrative officer at CRi.
His dedication to empowerment and service has been a defining characteristic of his move from professional football to the charity sector.
He increased sponsorship sales and oversaw financial literacy initiatives for more than 8,000 players at the NFL Players Association while serving as COO of the NFL Alumni Association before joining CRi.
George’s leadership at CRi, which has strong ties to the Black community, emphasizes the value of helping caregivers—many of whom are women of color—who frequently put in countless hours behind the scenes.
His work is expected to provide people who devote their lives to helping others the recognition they deserve.
In order to honor and reward caregivers who are essential in helping people with mental health issues, physical disabilities, and developmental disabilities, George is leading a campaign.
George is the head of CRi’s Caregiver Recognition Initiative, a groundbreaking initiative that honors the hidden heroes of healthcare and direct assistance, together with President & CEO Justin Zakia.
It is reported that this program aims to honor caregivers in Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, D.C.
Through an annual awards ceremony, which will be part of recognizing exceptional caregivers for their commitment and devotion.
Nominations are through recommendations from employers, coworkers, families, and care receivers, and those who are chosen will be recognized and given significant incentives.
