Ghanaian triplets in Colorado graduate at the top of their class

The Addai-Opoku triplets, Mariah, Mercy, and Samuel, are making their mark with their outstanding intellect as they graduate at the top of their class. The siblings are all listed in the top ten of Hinkley High School’s 2024 graduating class and hold an associate degree from Aurora Community College.

Mariah attributed their success to their close relationship, saying, “There’s nothing stronger than family love and sibling love,” per KCNC.

Their parents, Kwasi and Margaret Addai-Opoku, relocated to Colorado from Ghana in the 1990s to begin a family without knowing what the future held for them. Their mother, Margaret, told the outlet, “First, we thought it was twins, then, at 24 weeks, that’s when we found out it was triplets and it was a shock.”

The siblings initially struggled with the home-to-school transition. On the first day they started school, their teacher even called their mother to let her know that the kids wouldn’t stop crying. However, the triplets quickly became accustomed to school and gained the respect and affection of both teachers and their friends.

The siblings, all athletic, worked while achieving academically. Together, they are headed to college, albeit not the same one. They remarked that their parents’ guidance will always motivate them, even if they are not together.

“They always just told us that education is power. When you have education, you can do whatever you want,” Mariah remarked.

The triplets declared their intention to stick together and encourage one another through college.
