Speaking about some of his experiences in the country, O’Brien said: “Shito” is like the best hot sauce ever.”

According to the video, he and his team couldn’t get over it as they kept eating it over and over again.

O’Brien, who was enjoying his stay in the West African country, also showed his love for Africa highlife music after he featured in a fast tempo song by a local artiste, Kuami Eugene.

Shito means pepper in the Ga language – spoken by the coastal people in the capital, Accra.

With its dark color, it consists of fish or vegetable oil, ginger, dried fish, prawns, crustaceans, tomatoes, garlic, pepper, and spices. These ingredients are usually blended together and cooked in vegetable oil for a little over an hour to create the sauce.

After a successful “Year of Return”, blacks of African origin have been encouraged to invest in the continent to further the course of development.

The initiative which was launched in Washington DC saw Boris Kodjoe and some of his Hollywood friends and family including; Nicole Ari Parker, Diggy Simmons, Micheal Jai White, Anthony Anderson (of Blackish), Rosario Dawson, Jidenna, Cynthia Bailey, Bozoma Saint John spent a significant amount of time in Ghana in 2018.

Steve Harvey, Samuel L. Jackson, Deborah Cox, Ernie Smith, Irvin Mayfield, reggae band Third World, Luda Cris, Cardi B, Rick Ross, Kofi Kingston, Lupita Nyong’o, Danny Glover, T.I, Tiny, and Hisham Tawfiq also made separate trips to Ghana in 2019.
