The half-Ghanaian, half-Sierra Leonean actor Idris Elba won his very first Golden Globe in 2012 for “Best Actor in a Mini Series” for the TV show “Luther.” This was his second Golden Globe nomination, and he went on two receive four more nominations: two in 2o14 for “Luther” and “Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom” as well as two in 2016 for “Beasts of No Nation” and “Luther.”
