American rapper and actor, Curtis James Jackson III, well-known as 50 Cent, has opened up about his decision to leave his multi-million-dollar fortune to his youngest son, Sire Jackson.
He disclosed his decision about Sire’s inheritance in an interview with ‘US Weekly’ on Wednesday. His decision has been heavily criticized by fans who are questioning why the business magnate will be giving his fortune to Sire, 12, and not his eldest son Marquise Jackson, 27.
However, the ‘Baby by Me’ rapper seemed unperturbed about the criticisms targeted at him.
“That’s the idea,” he said. “What’s left of me will be there for him to run with.”
50 Cent does not want to be tagged a billionaire despite his mega-bank balance. Talking about this status, he stated: “I’ve reached a point where I don’t want anything I don’t have.”
Instead of the billionaire status tag, 50 Cent wants to be seen as “very rich” and not the former.
While many are dragging the famous rapper online about his decision, others have jumped to his defence.
Those who are defending 50 Cent pointed to his feud with the mother of Marquise – Shaniqua Tompkins. They think their unending split and custody battles are factors affecting 50 Cent’s relationship with his eldest son as well.
He further opened up about plans to educate his darling son Sire on finances in a balanced manner.
The 49-year-old rapper also stressed why he wants to leave a positive impact and build a legacy through philanthropic activities.
