Last Thursday, when landlord Joseph Adjetey Adjei reportedly visited his house in Ashaiman, he discovered Kuli’s 8-year-old covered in cane marks and burns on her hands.
Once Kuli reportedly asked the child, whose Mother is said to have abandoned the family, what had happened, she reportedly told him that she received the thrashing because she had taken fish out of her father’s soup.
“The landlord questioned the victim on the cane marks and burns and was informed by the girl that her father boiled water and dipped her hands into it for taking fish from his soup.”
Upon leaving the residence, Adjei promptly reported the alleged incident to the police.
Kuli has since been arrested and charged for the offense.
